Capsule Canvas

About the Night:

Capsule Canvas is a scratch night for artists from, or adjacent to, street, club and hip hop dance. Work is allowed to be rough, raw, and unfinished.

Bring a piece in any of three formats:

• Freestyle: New ideas, or work that doesn't fit the battle format.
• Choreographed movement: Work in progress, or extracts you want feedback on.
• Dance-film: Movement + Film + Edit

Pieces can be 3 to 10 minutes.

Six to eight are chosen per edition, alongside three 10-minute talks on topics that matter to the scene.

Open to artists at any stage, from first-time makers to established names.

A cash prize goes to the 'Coup de Coeur': Our favourite of the night, not necessarily the strongest. Judges and audience can also make offers: feedback, a performance slot, video work, consultation.

Artists should leave with more than they arrived with.
