DIY Nights - Hot Mess & Friends

About the Night:

A night of exciting comedy culminating in a grungy gondola trip through the sewers of Hollywood captained by Georgia Polly-Taylor's character HOT MESS! With support from actress & stand-up, Clare Noy known for her audacious one-woman show 'Funny Though' and performance in 'The Play That Goes Wrong', and seasoned comic, writer & Funny Women Stage finalist AJ Stubberfield.

HOT MESS: We find wannabe socialite-model ‘Hot Mess’ at her first ever MET Gala. Poses are struck, bowels are loose and dreams are crushed faster than you can say nepotism. After a VERY public embarrassment on what was meant to be the night of her dreams, she goes on a journey through the drains of shame and self-discovery to find her place in the world. Absurd clown & catwalk diva: this eccentric character celebrates the often disastrous reality of being human.

About the Artists:

Georgia Polly-Taylor is a performer, a multi-disciplinary-artist and graduate of BA(Hons) European Theatre Arts at Rose Bruford College. Her practice blends different art forms including Spoken Word, Circus, Physical theatre, Pole Dancing and Multi-Media Performance. Recent credits: Random Acts of Heroic Love (R&D) with Improbable TC, Hot Girls Drink Blood at The Arc Theatre Stockton, Call Me Mother Nature at MAST Mayflower Studios Southampton; and NewsRevue (Canal Cafe Theatre). Georgia is also a Creative Associate with ChewBoy Productions.

Nancy Hannigan is a Fringe award-nominated experimental theatre-maker with experience in direction, production and promotion. She is the co-founder and lead facilitator of 'Cabane', an annual lab residency and recipient of the ABCD Fund from Au Brana Centre (France). Other recent projects include being on the Casting & Directing team of 'You Me Bum Bum Train', Assistant Director for 'Our Mother's Daughters' at the Redbridge Drama Centre, and Co-creator of clown cabaret group 'GoGo Grannies' recently seen at Greenman Festival & El Dorado Festival.

AJ Stubberfield is an acclaimed creative with over 15 years of experience as a writer, performer, and stand-up comic, sharing their lived experiences as a queer and working class creative through storytelling. Their work has been performed at The Royal Court Theatre and sold-out runs at Soho Theatre.

Clare Noy is an Actress, Writer and Comedienne. She trained at Rose Bruford College London and the National Youth Theatre as an Actor and at Soho Theatre as a comedienne. Stage Credits include: Peter Pan Goes Wrong (West End and UK Tour), Fish Eye (Omnibus Theatre), The Play That Goes Wrong (UK Tour), NewsRevue (Canal Cafe Theatre), The Gut Girls (Stratford Circus). Comedy Credits include: Stand Up + Showcase (Soho Theatre), Funny Though WIP (Omnibus Theatre), Adrian Bliss and friends (The Pleasance), Stars of Tomorrow (Museum Of Comedy.)
