About the Lab:
What if you already possess everything you need in order to create?
Creating Invisible Libraries is a creative movement practice rooted in memories and the movements of every-day life.
Through memory and writing exercises into guided movement tasks, this class allows you to look at all the movements you already have within you. With tasks and tools, anything from brushing your teeth to waving for the bus can become dance!
All four classes will be structured, with each one emphasising a different aspect of the practice.
The sessions:
- Tuesday September 8th: Introduction
- Tuesday September 15th: Storing Memories of Movement
- Tuesday September 22nd: Playing and Developing
- Tuesday September 29th: Creating Invisible Libraries as Improvisational Practice
We will celebrate the end of the four weeks with a big, joyful group improvisation at the end of the last class.
Pop in for a deep dive or join all four weeks to become the dancing librarian of your own invisible library.
About the Lab Leader:
Tuva Westgaard Berglund is a choreographer, performer, and movement facilitator from Norway, currently living in South East London. After completing her BA (Hons) in contemporary dance with a 1st class honours at Trinity Laban, she has been teaching and performing, while developing her own projects. Tuva is especially interested in movement as an alternative mode of communication, which can open up the space to express and explore feelings and experiences where words become insufficient. She is currently looking at grief, joy, and care in sibling relationships affected by chronic illness in her new solo work “But you don’t have to say sorry” (part of Lambeth Fringe 2026), and she is continuing her research into repetition, memory, and ephemerality through her movement practice “Creating Invisible Libraries”, which has received research and development funding from Arts Council England. Tuva is currently performing in Millie Parker's debut piece "On Girlhood" across festivals and venues in South West England.
